The squid ink-colored Calbee potato chips will be Consommé flavored. The only difference with the regular Consommé chips is that the color used for the flavored powder is black, imitating squid ink. The potato chip bags will also display the default Inkling protagonist character in both squid and kid form. You can take a look at the potato chip bags here:

Meanwhile, the new Splatoon 3 Splatfest for March 2024 will be potato chips-themed. This Splatfest will be exclusive to Japan, with a different theme appearing overseas. The question asked is, “What do you think of potato chips?” The three teams represented are salt, consommé, and nori seaweed flavors.

Furthermore, a lottery campaign will be held, and winners will receive a Potato Chips Fest t-shirt like the ones from the Splatfest competition. 200 t-shirts for each flavor will be available. The campaign will be held between March 1 and July 16, 2024.

The Splatoon series has received regional Splatfest in the past, like the one that pits the Kinoko no Yama and Takenoko no Sato chocolate snacks against each other in Splatoon 2.

Splatoon 3 and its Side Order DLC add-on are immediately available for the Nintendo Switch.
