Disgaea 7 Episode 2, Map 5: “Battle Against Shogun Stupid” sends players to defeat Yeyasu in this chapter’s big boss fight. However, some might find it a little difficult! This is because it is also a tutorial for the new Jumbification process, and if your units are at or around level 10 they can be quickly wiped out. However, there’s a trick to getting through this one without any issue.

Which units should I take into the fight against Yeyasu in Disgaea 7?

Honestly, you probably won’t have many! So all of the ones you start with, which are Fuji, Pirilika, the generic Cleric, the generic Valkyrie, and the generic Prinny. By now you should also have probably made at least two to four other units to help you out. It doesn’t matter what class they are. Just have them ready to come in and fight.

However, the key here is in how you deploy these units. You want to save Fuji and Pirilika for the Jumbification process and use your generic units to build up the Rage meter for the process.

So how I defeat Yeyasu in Disgaea 7?

The “Battle Against Shogun Stupid” fight begins with Yeyasu jumbified. Whenever he attacks on his turn, he’ll unleash AOE attacks that will one-shot characters at or around level 10-12. So what you’re doing here is ensuring the Rage meter stays full so one of your two main characters can make the most of Jumbification.

What you can take advantage of is the Everyone’s a Bomb trait on the map that makes every character function as Prinnies. Every opponent on the field is pretty strong, so tossing your own generic units out to act as bombs to damage them is a big help.

I’d also recommend immediately sending out Pirilika, using the Jumbification option, and making her Jumbify. While she has a 10% chance of putting an enemy to sleep with Sleep Attack, that probably won’t happen with Yeyasu. Honestly, have her and no more than three of your generic allies on the field.

His first turn, Yeyasu will unleash an attack that might kill Pirilika and any allies you have on the field. Since his team is rather strong, there’s also a good chance it will wipe out the few characters you’re sending out in one hit. Don’t be alarmed if they do. This is all about Jumbification and you’re really just here to have Pirilika or Fuji take out Yeyasu with the new mechanic.

So for your turn after that, send Fuji out if Pirilika was defeated. The Rage gauge should still be filled so he can Jumbify too. Have him attack Yeyasu. This should defeat him, which ends the stage.

Also, note that you only face Yeyasu like this the one time. When you return to “Battle Against Shogun Stupid” after the fact for level grinding, a giant Prinny will replace him.

Disgaea 7 is available on the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC in North America. It will come to Europe on October 6, 2023 and Australia on October 13, 2023.
