Let’s be honest here. It isn’t a Disgaea game unless you do some grinding. Like when you first start out and begin building up your army, you’ll need to get people to a point where they’re usable. So for the first two or three Episodes, a good goal is to have everyone at or above level 10. Fortunately, as with leveling in past games, one Disgaea 7 early map is probably the best one to grind for levels for characters in the game.
So which Disgaea 7 early game map should I grind for leveling up my characters?
During the first two Episodes of Disgaea 7, the third “Gates of Ewwdo Castle” stage map is the best way to start leveling up your characters to level 8-10. It has everything you need to successfully start building up any generic units you start creating to help you through those first two chapters. Honestly, since you’ll just start having enough spare HL to start always building Average (480 HL) or Skilled (1,920 HL) units at the Recruiter, you might want to rely on Gates of Ewwdo Castle for the very beginning of Episode 3 too.
Here’s exactly why Gates of Ewwdo is such a perfect pick as an early game spot to grind levels in Disgaea 7:
- It is basically a 12×10 square, flat map with no need to jump or lift anything.
- There are Enemy Weaken -50% and Recovery 20% Geo Symbols, in case you want optional Geo Panel buffs.
- There are only four opponents, which are two level 2 Prinnies and two level 2 Orcs.
- Due to the size of the map, any units you deploy will be able to immediately reach the Orcs to attack them without throwing/jumping/equipment bonuses. Ranged units should be able to reach both Prinnies as well.
- It is a great map to deploy only 1-2 characters, so you can focus on building up only one or two people. (In fact, one of the five missions for the stage is “3 or Fewer Deployed Units.”)
- The five missions are very easy to complete. They are:
- Clear Within 3 Turns: Gold Reward
- No Units Unable to Fight: Silver Reward
- 3 or Fewer Deployed Units: Bronze Reward
- Throw 2 or More Times: Bronze Reward
- Total Geo Elimination: Bronze Reward
- It is an incredibly quick map. Once deployed is around level 5, you can probably clear it by the end of your second turn.
The only annoying part is there is an Enemy Boost +50% Geo Symbol applied to the panels in the middle of the map. However, given the enemy levels and this being an early map, it should stop being an issue once your deployed characters are at around 3-4.
Disgaea 7 is available on the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC in North America. It will come to Europe on October 6, 2023 and Australia on October 13, 2023.
