Arc System Works published the second Guilty Gear Strive Starter Guide video for the week, which is dedicated to Zato-1, a recurring playable character in the series.
Zato-1 is the leader of the Assassin’s Guild who fights with a Forbidden Beast known as Eddie. Although he has appeared in all mainline Guilty Gear fighting games to date, Eddie took over his name in Guilty Gear XX due to storyline-related factors.
The new Starter Guide video shows what Zato-1’s new moves look like in Guilty Gear Strive. Series fans may notice a visual difference from prior Xrd games, in which Eddie is now connected with Zato’s shadow.
Most of Zato’s moves involve Eddie, including the Drunkard Shade, which can reflect an opponent’s projectile attacks. When Eddie cannot be summoned, Zato players should try to keep thier distance with the air-dashing Flight or launch the Invite Hell move.

Zato-1 is the second character to be added to the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive open beta test and receive his own Starter Guide video after yesterday’s Millia Rage. We can expect Arc System Works to upload official guide videos for the Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- debutants Ramlethal Valentine and Leo Whitefang, as well as Strive‘s brand-new characters Nagoriyuki and Giovanna, for the next four days up to February 15, 2021.
Guilty Gear Strive will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 9, 2021. A public open beta test for the new fighting game will be held on February 17-21, 2021.
