An evil scientist mixes monster and machine, and players are forced to clean up the gross aftermath in shmup Zangeki Warp.

Gigantic creatures covered in pulsating eyes and shuddering extremities will face the player, alongside an array of mechanical defenses, as they try to take down the scientist’s rampaging forces. Huge bugs, and other stomach-churning monsters make up the bulk of the enemy forces, giving the shmup a horror-like slant.

Players will have an array of weapons to fight back with, including the handy Warp Slash. This move pauses time as the player creates a line between where their fighter is and where they want to move it to. Once a destination is selected, the ship will move to that spot, dealing damage to anything in between. This move must be recharged, though, so players can’t always be warping around.

This warp has other uses. Players can leave a decoy at the site they left, distracting enemies temporarily, and they can also create a shockwave where they land, dealing additional damage wherever they wish to end up. They can also use the warp ability to get past obstacles in the environment, or sneak around enemy attacks and shots.

Zangeki Warp is available now on Steam.
