Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel introduced Team Battle, which will allow duelists to engage in 3v3 or 5v5 battles. It will not be a free-for-all, but rather a tournament style. Each team will send out a player for each round, and the team with the most victories wins. Konami also announced a new Battle Trajectory selection pack, which is available for duelists to pull on in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel.
Team Battles will be competitive, but there does not appear to be a limit on rank. This means that casual players can be on the same team as a higher-ranked duelist. You can also set up deck restrictions. For example, you can set it so that both players can only use a certain type of special summon. You can always participate in Team Battle in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, whether solo or with a set team.
Battle Trajectory focuses on Pendulum Monsters from the Performapal and Odd-Eyes archetypes. Fans of the anime may recognize these archetypes, as they are Yuya Sakaki’s signature cards. Yuya is the protagonist of Arc-V. There is also the chance to get Vaylantz cards when pulling from the Battle Trajectory pack. Vaylantz also uses Pendulum Zones but focuses more on manipulating your opponent’s cards’ positions.
Finally, this update adds the Visas Starfrost icon and Vaylantz card protectors for you to spruce up your profile or deck. Both of these are available from the storefront. Like other icons or card sleeves, you can purchase them with gems.
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is available for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, mobile devices, and Windows PC.
