You Choose Which Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Soundtrack the Game Uses

Yesterday, the Nintendo of Europe Twitter account shared a sample of a song from the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition soundtrack. People were able to hear what the remastered version of “Colony 9,” Shulk’s hometown theme song, sounded like. Now the Nintendo of Australia Twitter account did the same while dropping some knowledge. People can choose which soundtrack the game uses.

The audio clip is otherwise the same in the tweet. It’s the context that changes. After sharing the 30 second sample, Nintendo noted that people can go with either soundtrack when a person picks up Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and begins playing. Presumably, if you head into the options menu, you’ll be able to choose the music that best suits your mood.

The remastered Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition soundtrack is one of the game’s main changes. In addition to that, the graphics have been completely updated with new character models and such. You also have a whole new epilogue starring Shulk and Melia. (If you’ve already played the game, then you can hop right into this extra adventure instead of having to unlock it by replaying it all again.)

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition will come to the Nintendo Switch on May 29, 2020. It is immediately available on the New Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii.
