… or Chinese text, for that matter. Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong announced today that they will release a version of Final Fantasy XIII-2 with Japanese voiceovers and all text and menus rendered in your choice of English or Traditional Chinese, thanks to a partnership between Sony Computer Entertainment Asia and Square Enix.

And like with Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy, the English/Chinese edition will allow you to import save data from both the English and Japanese versions of Final Fantasy XIII.
The English/Chinese edition will hit stores in Asia on January, 31 2012, the same day Final Fantasy XIII-2 arrives in North America.

“I am glad to be able to bring Final Fantasy XIII-2 to the Asian region. Final Fantasy XIII was our first release in both Chinese and Korean, but it was about a year behind the Japanese release," producer Yoshinori Kitase said in the press release. "However, this time we are able to get this game into your hands with only a month or so of lag."

In the meantime, if you’re curious to see how Serah and Noah’s names are supposed to be read in Mandarin, log in to the Asian PlayStation Store today to find a new trailer of the game with Chinese subtitles.
