Roguelike Yōdanji draws from Japanese folklore to create the creatures and items players will stumble across as they explore its generated dungeons, feature many monsters from mythology.

Yōdanji will have players combing through a randomly-generated dungeon, one where they will be able to find and recruit over twenty different yokai, all drawn from mythology and folklore, who are lurking around. Each of these Japanese spirits, once trapped and summoned, offers different combat abilities, giving players many different ways they can tackle the game based on who they use. Players will also be able to look up a little description of the yokai they capture, learning more about their history and traits.

As players plunge deeper into the dungeon and beat up the other creatures inside, they’ll steadily find amulets and skills they can equip to their yokai, helping them get a little tougher and survive a bit longer in each turn-based scrap.
