Monster Hunter: Dynamic Hunting releases today in Japan, and Capcom have put out a new promo video for the iPhone game that gives you a pretty good idea of how it plays. You get thrown into fights with different monsters and have to take them down within the time limit.
Judging by the video, one gets the impression that combat plays out more or less like a simplified version of the regular Monster Hunter games. You drag to move, tap monsters to attack, flick to perform a slash attack, and swipe using two fingers to dodge. Blocking is done by pressing two fingers against the screen.
As far as weapons go, Dynamic Hunting allows for the use of a Sword and Shield, Great Sword and Dual Swords. You can customize 40 different types of weapons and 13 different types of armour.
Like its console counterparts, Dynamic Hunting also allows for local co-op play. This works using Bluetooth. Capcom say that even if one player fails the mission but his partner completes it, both players will get to reap the rewards.
