Those of you players who enjoyed the English dub voice option for Yakuza spinoff Judgment might be pleased to learn that the same might just be available for the upcoming Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
As spotted by Aurc on Resetera, a listing for the game surfaced briefly on the credits list page for PCB Productions, who were the ones in charge of the Judgment dub. The listing for Persona 5 Royal appeared as well, with both Sega-published games being listed as ‘In Development’. Since then, the page has been modified to remove mention of the two games.
If this soft confirmation is true, then this would make Yakuza: Like a Dragon the first mainline game to get an English dub since the first game on PS2. Darryl Kurylo played the role of Kazuma Kiryu, while Mark Hamill played the role of Goro Majima. Of course, with Yakuza: Like a Dragon being the first big shift in the series, this could be the best timing to introduce a new voice cast to fresh characters like Ichiban Kasuga.
Previous games from Ryuu ga Gotoku Studio that included an English voice cast includes First of the North Star: Lost Paradise, Binary Domain, and of course, Judgment.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released on the PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 16, 2020, and in North America and Europe in 2020. We got a look at boss battles against Kiryu, Majima, and Saejima that will allow you to summon them in our previous report here.
