Yahoo Grand Prix 2021 Includes Uma Musume, Evangelion

Yahoo published the results of the Cultural Category for its Yahoo Search Grand Prix 2021 rankings. The Yahoo Search Grand Prix 2021 looks at how much more users search for works or people compared to the previous year. Tokyo Revengers, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, and Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time were all in first place in their respective Yahoo Search Grand Prix 2021 sections. [Thanks, Oricon!]

As a reminder, the Yahoo Search Grand Prix 2021 only looks at search results that became more popular between 2020 and 2021. It bases this on average searches within a day. On December 9, 2021, Yahoo will reveal the eight winners of its Person Category. The Person Category will include most-searched for actors, idols, voice actors, and so on. Although Google remains the search engine of choice, quite a number of people in Japan use Yahoo as their second option when compared to America.

Uma Musume, Evangelion 3.0+1.0, and Tokyo Revengers have remained popular ever since they first launched in 2021. They also made the Nikkei Trendy “Best 30 Consumer Hits of 2021.” That list focused on items that garnered the most revenue or trended on social media.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is available in Japanese on mobile devices and Windows PC. Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time is streaming on Amazon, while Tokyo Revengers is on services such as Crunchyroll.
