There’s some good news for people who have been considering picking up the Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, but were worried about how long it might take to get to some of the new content. Nintendo made an announcement on Twitter that might take a weight off of people’s shoulders. The Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connected epilogue, which is an entirely new post-game adventure with a strong focus on Shulk and Melia going on a new journey, can be played right away.

Nintendo clarified how the Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connected episode will work in the reveal. It noted that someone could begin the game and go directly to this new epilogue in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. No cleared save data is required. There will be an option open right away.

As a reminder, the official trailer for the Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition offered a hint at what’s to come. Shulk and Melia are together. He mentions a capital may be on one of the titan’s shoulders and wondered if that’s a place she’d want to visit. However, there are hints that a trip to such a place might not be entirely safe. Melia even remarks that they’re “very much in the dark.” Shulk then remarks that it’s fortunate he’s prepared while the camera looks at the Monado on his back.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will come to the Nintendo Switch on May 29, 2020. North America’s special edition includes a massive art book, while the European one includes the art book, a soundtrack, and other goodies.
