Epic Games is making a huge change to how Fortnite will work moving forward. As you may know, the seasonal Battle Pass comes by every three months or so and allows players to unlock new skins rewards. Previously, these rewards were unable to unlock beyond their respective seasons. But it looks like this will change with the ability to buy Fortnite Battle Pass items in the shop.
When Can You Buy Fortnite Battle Pass Items in the Item Shop?
From now on, there is a huge change that will be happening to Fortnite. It is now possible for Battle Pass items to appear in the item shop after the season they were introduced. Yes, this can even include all of the different skins that players can unlock throughout the many pages.
The catch with this is that players won’t be able to buy these items immediately. Instead, players will have to wait until at least 18 months after the item was introduced for it to potentially show up in the item shop. At that point, players who missed out on it or didn’t get a high enough level in the Battle Pass can purchase it for the first time.
Will Every Battle Pass Skin Come to the Item Shop?
The obvious question on some players’ minds will be if every Fortnite Battle Pass skin and item will come to the item shop. The short answer is probably not. Epic already made it clear this will only affect certain items. That said, crossover skins are included, so it is possible to see these return.
That said, not every season will get this treatment. Only seasons starting with the next seasons and beyond will have this possibility. Unfortunately, the current Chapter 5 Season 3 and any before now aren’t included. Finally, not all alt styles of skins will be necessarily available, either. Players only see some of them when these skins return in the item shop.
Fortnite is available for free right now for Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
