The patch 2.1 Trailblaze Missions in Honkai: Star Rail involved quite a few revelations and insights, and one of them introduced a new character named Jade. She gets two memorable moments in the “Cat Among Pigeons” missions, and seems like she could play a bigger part going forward.
Who is Jade in Honkai: Star Rail?

Jade first appears during a flashback during the Aventurine part of the story in “All the Sad Tales.” As we’re learning about his past, we discover he was brought before the Interastral Peace Corporation Ten Stonehearts member Jade after he killed his master when he was a slave. He bargained that he might prove valuable and attempted to meet with the head of the group, Diamond.
Instead, we learn a bit about Jade. After sizing Aventurine up, she reveals she will be acting in place of Diamond. This suggests she has quite a bit of power in the organization, since she’s able to step in place of the leader for this matter. She then spares him and see his potential, giving him an opportunity and chance at a new life as an IPC member.
This also suggests some other things about her. First, Jade seems to be smart enough to sense Aventurine’s talent and determination. She’s a good judge of character. The other is that maybe she could also be kind. She seems the man brought before her was a slave who was being mistreated, and she’s willing to hear him out.
We further see an example of Jade’s potential power and intelligence in “A Walk Among the Tombstones.” As the 2.1 Trailblaze Missions end. She entrusted her Cornerstone to Aventurine for his mission in Penacony, showing she believed in his gamble and was smart enough to see it as her own way “in” to the situation. Her final lines also suggest she is all about business as well, as she says the following:
Let’s fulfill our duty and start “harvesting.” Thereafter, in the cradle of slumberers, deep within the sweet dream of the Planet of Festivities, another stone begins to radiate light. “I come for an audience. I come to fill wine, and I come to claim. I bestow poison in the guise of sweet dew. Come the toil of spring and yield of fall, I patiently wait for the branches to be heavy with withered fruits. All for the …Amber Lord.”
Will I be able to use Jade as a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail?
HoYoVerse hasn’t announced if Jade will be playable in Honkai: Star Rail yet, but I think it is likely. After all, two members of the Ten Stonehearts from the IPC ended up added to the roster.
Topaz joined in October 2023 with the Sunset Clause banner. She’s a five-star The Hunt character tied to the Pyro element. We’ll likely see a rerun for her in early 2024.
Aventurine will be playable in Honkai: Star Rail after April 17, 2024. That’s when his Gilded Imprisonment banner will run for the first time. He’s a five-star Imaginary character who is on the Preservation path.
