To unlock Sammy in Vampire Survivors, you must track down several enemies with the same name. Here’s the best way to find Sammy’s enemies in Vampire Survivors and unlock one of the most useful characters in the game.

How to get Sammy in Vampire Survivors

To unlock Sammy, you must defeat 6000 Sammy enemies in Vampire Survivors. First, you should make sure you have the Tides of the Foscari DLC installed. Sammy is exclusive to that DLC and the enemies are only found within its map, Lake Foscari.

Sammy’s enemies do spawn randomly on the map, though infrequently. Waiting for this would take ages to reach 6000 kills. Luckily, there’s an area with more Sammies than you could ever hope for. Directly west of the starting area, there’s a clearing where a few Sammies will spawn. You can start there if you want, but the real treasure is beyond the hedge maze in the northeast corner of the map.

If you head there, as shown on the map above, you’ll find a clearing of trees. If you check the northernmost line of trees in this “block,” you’ll eventually find an opening that allows you to go inside. Once inside the area, you will find hundreds of Sammies.

The Sammies in this area will continue to spawn indefinitely, meaning it’s an all-you-can-destroy buffet. If you bring enough firepower, you could easily hit 6000 after just one run. I recommend anything that kills passively in a large area, such as Pentagram or King’s Bible.

You can check out our Pentagram build if you’re looking for ideas. Using this should net you 6000 kills within the time limit. So, once you’ve defeated 6000 of them and unlocked Sammy, is it worth it? I say absolutely.

While Sammy isn’t a particularly powerful character, there is a reason we put them at S Tier in our Vampire Survivors character tier list. Sammy is a literal gold mine. One of their passive abilities extends Gold Fever mode and also triggers an automatic one at level 30.

Additionally, their starting weapon, Vicious Hunger, can turn enemies into coins. This further extends your Gold Fever and increases your overall gold gain. All in all, Sammy can end up with thousands upon thousands of gold. Using Sammy is far and away the best way to grind for Gold in Vampire Survivors.

Vampire Survivors Emergency Meeting DLC is now available for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, mobile, and PC. The DLC is coming to Switch at a later date.
