Where to Find Moss location in Stardew Valley

Moss is currently one of the more challenging materials for players to get in this game. This is due to the randomness of this item, which makes it hard to grind or farm for it. In Stardew Valley 1.6, Moss only grows on trees, which players can find throughout the world. You want to look for the trees that have green stuff growing on them. All you need to do now is strike at the tree to gather the moss off of it.

What is great is you can do this with pretty much any tool in the game and with swords. You can even remove the moss from the tree without chopping down the tree, which is great. Unfortunately, the chances of finding moss on a tree are random, so you can search for a while. You can up the chances with the new weather condition known as green rain, which will increase the chances of moss, but I went a whole season without encountering it once, so it may be rare.

All Moss Crafting Recipes in Stardew Valley

The reason for gathering Moss in Stardew Valley is to use it to craft various new recipes in the 1.6 update. After all, Moss only sells for about five gold, so it is pretty worthless on its own. That said, here are all of the new crafting recipes that involve moss:

  • Moss Soup: Food that requires 20 moss
  • Deluxe Worm Bin: 1 Worm Bin, 30 moss (fishing level 8 required)
  • Mushroom Log: 10 hardwood, 10 moss
  • Speed-Gro: Pine Tar, 5 moss (farming level 3)
  • Statue of Blessings: 333 moss, 999 sap, 999 fiber, 999 stone

Stardew Valley 1.6 is available now on PC. The major update is set to be released at a later date for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
