Where to Find Jormuntide in Palworld (& How to Breed Them)

Jormuntide is one of the rarest Pals in Palworld, as its only spawn on the map is an Alpha Boss. Here is where to find Jormuntide in Palworld and how to breed them.

Palworld Jormuntide location

If you are trying to complete your Paldeck and realize you haven’t found Jormuntide while exploring the map, you are not alone! The Water-dragon Pal is hard to find because it doesn’t have a normal spawn on the map. Instead, it can only be found as an Alpha Boss. Interestingly, it also has two spawn locations on the map for some reason. Below, we will break down where you can find Jormuntide.

Investigator’s Fork

Jormuntide is located in the lake south of the Investigator’s Fork fast travel point in Palworld. The circular lake is also west of the Cinnamoth Forest and is fairly easy to spot. The quickest way to reach Jormuntide is to use the Investigator’s Fork fast travel point and then head south until you reach the lake.

Because Jormuntide only spawns in the water, it’s recommended that you use one of the flying mounts in Palworld to attack and catch it. There is also a little island in the middle of the lake that you can swim to and then stand on when you start attacking Jormuntide.

Mossanda Forest

The second place Jormuntide can be found in Palworld is at the lake east of the Mossanda Forest. This encounter is also pretty hard to miss, as Alpha Jormuntide will be swimming between a giant skeleton hovering above the water.

Unlike the Investigator’s Fork Lake, no land is nearby to stand on. In my playthrough, I just hopped on the back of my flying mount and shot at it with a gun and bow. So, if you plan on catching Jormuntide from this location, be prepared for the lack of land.

How to catch Jormuntide in Palworld

First off, I recommend that you take on Jormuntide in the lake near the Investigator’s Fork, as there is a little island you can stand on. Secondly, Jormuntide only spawns in at level 45, so this is a tough fight. I do not recommend tackling this until you are between levels 45 and 50.

You should also bring an Electric or Ice Pal to this battle, as Jormuntide’s dual Water/Dragon typing makes it weak to both Electric and Ice attacks. Before you dive into the battle, though, there are a few steps you should take to ensure the battle goes smoothly.

Below are the steps to catch Jormuntide in Palworld:

• Because Jormuntide is level 45 and swims in water, you should be using guns to take him on. Here is the loadout you should use to catch Jormuntide:
  • Pump-action Shotgun – unlocked at level 42 and can be crafted with 30 Refined Ingot, 20 Polymer, and 40 Carbon Fiber.
  • Assault Rifle – unlocked at level 45 and can be crafted with 40 Refined Ingot, 10 Polymer, and 30 Carbon Fiber.
  • Hyper Shield – unlocked at level 43 and can be crafted with 30 Ancient Civilization Parts, and 100 Paldium Fragment.
  • Legendary Sphere – unlocked at level 44 and can be crafted with 10 Paldium Fragment, 5 Pal Metal Ingot, 3 Carbon Fiber, and 5 Cement.
• Warp to the Investigator’s Fork fast travel point and then travel south down the path until you reach the lake shown on the maps above.
• As soon as you reach the lake, swim to the island in the middle of the water, and then immediately throw your Electric or Ice-type Pal out and start attacking.
• Use your Shotgun when Jormuntide rushes you, and press the dodge button when he charges up his attack. When he’s ranged, use the Assault Rifle and unleash everything you have against him.
• When his health drops to 10%, withdraw your Pal so that you don’t knock Jormuntide out.
• Use a Legendary Sphere and keep spamming as many balls as you need to until you catch Jormuntide.

How to breed Jormuntide in Palworld

If you are struggling to catch Jormuntide, you can also obtain it with the Palworld breeding feature. Seven Pal combinations can be used to create a Jormuntide egg. However, you must be at least level 19 to unlock the breeding farm in your technology menu.

Jormuntide breeding combinations

• Beakon x Sweepa.
• Cinnamoth x Cryolinx.
• Cinnamoth x Orserk.
• Mossanda x Helzephyr.
• Nitewing x Grizzbolt.
• Nitewing x Helzephyr.
• Penking x Jetragon.

For this example, we will use Nitewing and Grizzbolt. Once you’ve unlocked the Breeding Farm at level 19, you must find two pals from the list above to breed him. Nitewing can be found east of the Azurobe Hill fast travel point as an Apha boss in Palworld. It spawns in at level 17, so it shoud be easy to take down.

Grizzbolt can be found at the No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary, east of the Sea Breeze Archipelago Castaway Beach fast travel point. Once you have both Pals, lift them up and carry them to your breeding area. To assign them to the Breeding Ranch, throw them inside the fence. Once both are assigned, use the Cooking Pot, which unlocks at level 17, and bake a Cake.

Next, walk up to the wooden box on the side of the Breeding Ranch and place your cake inside. You will now need to wait around four minutes until the yellow breeding meter fills up. Once it’s done, a Huge Egg will appear, and you need to place it in an Egg Incubator to hatch Jormuntide. The time the egg will hatch will vary from player to player, depending on their World Settings.
