Cerys is one of the key NPCs you can meet in the early parts of Baldur’s Gate 3, but she can be tricky to find. There are some weird quirks surrounding her and the quests that involve her, so here’s where to find Cerys in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Cerys Location
The first location you can find Cerys is in Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 1 in the Wilderness right at the Druid Grove. The Emerald Grove is home to the Tiefling refugees, including Cerys, who is one of the right-hand Tieflings to the leader Zevlor. You can speak with her usually near the wall, but she has little importance during Act 1 unless Zevlor and some of the other Tieflings die during the Act 1 battle against the Goblin Camp. So this means you may not need to talk to her then.
In this case, you may get a quest objective to speak with Cerys. She becomes one of the stand-in leaders for the group in the event Zevlor and the others pass. However, there are also some weird bugs with this where she isn’t able to be found. If this happens to you, you’ll need to wait and head to Act 2, which is when you will be able to easily meet her again.
In Act 2, you can find Cerys at the Last Light Inn in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. She is often roaming around, but usually found on the first floor of the main inn building. You can even speak to her to earn a side quest to find some of the Tiefling refugees who are lost in the middle of the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

Can Cerys Die in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Unfortunately, Cerys can die in this game, including in Act 1. Thankfully, Larian Studios built some failsafes for this, which I needed because she perished in the Goblin Camp fight in my one run. If this happens to you, don’t worry, as you’ll still be able to the refugees side quest in Act 2.
All you need to do is head to the same location at the Last Light Inn I showed in the screenshot earlier, and you will find the replacement character for her known as Alfira. If you complete the refugees quest for either Cerys or Alfira, you will also be able to see them again in the city of Baldur’s Gate in Act 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for the PS5 and PC. It will also release for Xbox in 2023.
