Starfield features a unique Red Mile Run race, which is the optional, intense death minigame-like activity. Surviving this gauntlet and winning its amazing prizes is a difficult challenge to take on. Especially if you can even manage to unlock and find it in the first place.

How to Unlock and Find the Red Mile Run in Starfield

First and foremost, the location of the Red Mile Run in Starfield is in the Porrima System. Head there to the planet Porrima III, and you’ll find the Red Mile as a marker. Land there and you’ll be able to check out the bar area, speak to the patrons, and run the Red Mile if you unlock it.

How you unlock the Red Mile Run in Starfield is accomplished by, oddly enough, starting the Freestar Collective Rangers faction storyline. You can do this by heading to Akila City in the Cheyenne System. After solving the bank situation, you’ll be invited to the team.

During your stint traveling the galaxy and getting to know the other Rangers, you’ll meet up with one stationed at the Red Mile. During this quest where you help her, you’ll have to complete the Red Mile Run to progress the Rangers storyline.

Once you do this, you are free to come back and run the Red Mile Race anytime you want. How it works is you have to traverse the snowy hills through packs of wild creatures, make it to a button on the hill, press it, and then return from where you came from without dying.

Each run you complete of the Red Mile Race will grant you some valuable experience and credits. Just know that the run is exactly the same every single time you do it.

Starfield is available for the Xbox Series X and PC.
