After you hit a certain point in Mineko’s Night Market, that is unlocking the five additional areas like the caves, docks, gardens, and two forests and getting the market to level four, you’ll get a message noting that people can move into town. That’s when you’ll see individuals in four spots ready to head to town and establish night market presences. One of them is Sugihara. However, before Sugihara moves in, you have to find all four machine parts in Mineko’s Night Market.
How do you meet Sugihara in Mineko’s Night Market?
After the head of the market tells you that you can start having more people move to town if you invite them, head to the Caves. Right next to the bus stop is a busted machine. If you look near it, there’s the examine option. Doing so will trigger a combination with Sugihara asking if you found the machine part lying there. No matter what responses you say, you’ll be tasked with finding the missing four pieces so the Degarbagifier 2000 will appear at the night market each week. This is a booth that will fix projects you messed up due to missing button presses.
Where are the machine parts in Mineko’s Night Market?
Since you already got the one from the Caves, you need to visit the Birch Forest, Dark Forest, Docks, and Village Gardens. Each one has a gear in an obvious location. At Birch Forest, it’s in front of a cat statue surrounded by rocks in the middle of the map. In the Dark Forest, it’s by the cabin near the lake. At the docks, it’s on the dock where you can fish. In the Village Gardens, it’s at the shrine at the northmost point of the map.

Once you get the four machine parts in Mineko’s Night Market, take them back to Sugihara at the Caves. She’s right next to the bus stop. In addition to agreeing to move to town and open the Degarbagifier 2000 booth at the night market, she’ll also give you the Sewing Craftbench Planter Box recipe, the Sumo-man Poster Art Craftbench recipe, and a Rose Quartz.
Mineko’s Night Market is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC. It will be on the PS4, PS5, and Xbox One on October 26, 2023.
