How do gnomes work in Fortnite OG and where are their locations?

While finding gnomes in-game won’t give you any weapons or V-bucks, they will earn you a hefty 20,000 XP for each one you find. There are ten of them in total on the map. Of course, as the gnomes are not marked, it is important to know where they are. Luckily, when you are close, a white exclamation point will appear to guide you.

Additionally, here is a map of where you can find all of the gnomes to help you, before I get into more exact screenshots showing where each one is:

Going clockwise, the first gnome is in Junk Junction at the northwest corner of the map. Specifically, this gnome sits at the base of a giant steel llama overlooking the junkyard.

Pleasant Park Gnome

To the south, there is one hiding in Pleasant Park. You will find this gnome at a campfire on the southern border of the town at the end of the soccer field. It sits on a log at a campfire next to a tent.

Risky Reals Gnome

The next gnome is found at the Risky Reels theater. While here, look to the opposite of the screen to find an RV. Hidden behind the RV is the gnome.

Below Risky Reels is the Wailing Woods. While here, you find the gnome at the center of the forest in a hedge maze. It will be in front of a teddy bear.

Lonely Lodge Gnome

To the south is the Lonely Lodge, which is a much less dense forest. In the northern half, to the right of the lodge, you will find a small lake at the end of a river. Here, the gnome can be found fishing at the lake.

At the center of the map is the massive crater called Dusty Divot. While here, go to the northern sector. There will be a small pond. You will find a gnome floating on an inflatable chair there.

Paradise Palms Gnome

Go to the east of the city in Paradise Palms and find the farmhouse. It has a water tower next to it, which helps with the visibility. Once here, you will find the two gravestones, with the gnome sitting on top of one.

Shifty Shafts Gnomes

This one is tricky, because it is the spot that has two gnomes in two locations in Fortnite OG. The first is atop a cliff to the north east beside the crashed bus. It’s slightly more visible and appears to have gotten knocked loose in the crash.

The next gnome is a bit more difficult to find. This is because it is hidden deeper within the tunnels themselves behind a wall of planks. There is a cart nearby it, and it is right near a fork in the minecart rail path. You can see it in the screenshot I took above, as well as a minimap image that helps pin down the location.

Greasy Grove Gnome

Finally, the last gnome hides in greasy grove. To the north east of the town stands a high stone pillar. The gnome rests at the base, sitting atop a backpack.

Fortnite is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and mobile devices.
