Following the debut of Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 on PlayStation 5 in July 2024, the beloved Square Enix title was also brought back to Xbox Game Pass. However, with the RPG having been pulled from the Microsoft service in the past, many players are wondering, “When is Octopath Traveler leaving Game Pass?”
When did Octopath Traveler 1 leave Game Pass?
Octopath Traveler 1 makes its return to Game Pass after leaving the service in March 2023. When it was released on Xbox consoles on March 25, 2021, it was also included in the subscription as a day one game. The time between the Square Enix title’s inclusion and its departure was a few weeks shy of two years.
When will Octopath Traveler 1 & 2 leave Game Pass?
The Octopath Traveler games will leave Xbox and PC Game Pass in January 2026. That means Game Pass subscribers have one year and seven months to complete both Octopath 1 & 2. Announcing when titles are leaving this well in advance is unprecedented for Microsoft. Usually, the Xbox Game Pass official X(formally Twitter) account will notify users when a game is leaving the service two weeks before it becomes unavailable.
