When Does World of Warcraft: The War Within Release?

Early Access for The War Within began on August 23, 2024. However, players that did not purchase the $89 Epic Edition will be able to access the expansion on August 26, 2024 at 3pm PT/6pm ET/12am CET.

While Early Access has been somewhat smooth, with no queue times and very little lag even on fully populated servers, this could change for areas within the expansion once it officially releases. If this is an issue, you can always hop to a less populated server. This can be done by using the Group Finder and popping into a group (or party) on another server. Once you’ve made the jump, you can always leave the group.

Also, if you purchased World of Warcraft after the announcement of The War Within, it means that you already own the expansion. So you do not need to purchase the game again. But if you want the exclusive rewards, such as the pet and mount, from the Epic Edition, you can always go back and upgrade before the next expansion releases.

World of Warcraft is available for PC. The War Within expansion is in Early Access and will release on August 26, 2024.
