Fans will have to wait a little bit longer to enjoy One Piece chapter 1090. The latest chapter of the ongoing manga about Monkey D. Luffy is set to come out on August 21, 2023, at around 12 am JST in Japan. For international fans, you typically don’t have to wait until soon after that to check out the chapter officially in English.
Viz Media is the official distributor of the series and notes that it will be releasing on August 20, 2023 for most of the world. The exact release time should be sometime after 8 am PDT in North America. Most chapters appear within a few hours of the release in Japan.
The cause of this slight delay from the usually weekly schedule is likely due to the summer events happening in Japan this month. The national summer holiday time of Obon is scheduled to take place August 13-16, 2023, which falls right around the time One Piece usually releases a new chapter.
As such, fans won’t be able to see a new chapter until the following week in observance of the holiday period.
