Is there a time limit to get married in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?

There is a time limit for when you need to get married in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. Thankfully, it isn’t so dire that you’ll get a “game over” if you happen to not find the right person in time. This game forces you to find the love of your life and get married by the end of Year 1.

The specific date you must be married by is the 10th day of Winter in Year 1. If you aren’t married then, Takakura will visit you that night and let you know that someone is there to meet you. At this point, you’ll have the option to pick between the top romance options for who you’ll end up marrying. I found these will be people who you have the highest affect stats for at the time.

The problem with this is that you might not have certain characters as an option if you didn’t raise your relationship level with them high enough. In addition, if you pick no one, you pretty much receive a game over ending in the story. That’s why it’s best to figure out the one or two potential partners you like and commit to them as early as possible.

You can even get married long before the end of the first year, if you make sure to give your preferred bachelor or bachelorette the right gifts and speak to them often. Once you have at least eight hearts with someone, simply give them the Blue Feather you get on Summer 1 to propose and get married.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
