What’s Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Up To?

A day before Nintendo discuss their plans for the future at their E3 2011 media presentation, Nintendo’s global president, Satoru Iwata, is busy preparing for the big event. What’s he up to?

“I’m here now at the Nokia Theatre preparing for our Nintendo presentation tomorrow,” Iwata conveyed via Nintendo of America’s Twitter account. “I hope you enjoy the show.” He mentioned soon after: “I arrived here at E3 on Saturday from Japan, so I’m still experiencing jet lag.”

If you’ve watched Nintendo’s media briefings at E3 in recent years, you’ll have noticed that Iwata chooses to speak in English on stage — and in rather good English at that. However, he still finds it difficult to deliver his speeches in a language other than Japanese.

“I’ve been making my Nintendo speech in English since 2001, but I find it’s still tough to deliver my speech not in Japanese,” Iwata relayed through NOA. “It’s not easy to prepare a smooth Nintendo presentation, but we enjoy it. Now Mr. Miyamoto is changing his script again!”
