Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U won’t include a story mode like The Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but director Masahiro Sakurai does appear to be hinting at something out of the ordinary with the screenshot above.

 

On Miiverse, Sakurai stated along with the screenshot: “Where am I……?? To be clear, the new Super Smash Bros. games do not feature a story mode like The Subspace Emissary.”
