How to use the wallet in Mario RPG
You first get the wallet in Super Mario RPG after defeating the Croco boss fight to get Mallow’s Frog Coin back. If you were confused about what to do with the item, that is perfectly understandable. After all, the game just states that the key item is a “fat wallet” without any other hints. Below, we will break down the two things you can do with the wallet in Mario RPG.
Sell at the Mushroom Kingdom shop
The first thing you can do with the wallet in Mario RPG is sell it to the owner of the Mushroom Kingdom shop. While morally dubious, Mario can earn himself a total of 123 coins. While not a lot of money, it’s also nothing to sneeze at, considering coins can help out a lot in the game’s earlier levels.
Simply visit the Mushroom Kingdom shopkeeper and choose the “sell” option. Next, go to your items tab and select the “Wallet,” which will be at the bottom of your list. Finally, select “Yes,’ and the shop will give you 123 coins in exchange for the wallet.
Return the wallet to Toad in the Mushroom Kingdom
The second thing you can do with the wallet is return it to the Toad NPC that it was stolen from in the Mushroom Kingdom. In the middle of the city, look for a blue-spotted Toad NPC and speak to him. The Toad will then exclaim, “Hey! That’s the wallet the crocodile swiped from me! Can I have it back!?”
If you return the wallet in Mario RPG to the Toad NPC, he will reward you with a Flower Tab. The item permanently increases your FP (or Flower Points) by two points. That is a pretty great reward! If you say “No way,” the Toad will scold Mario as being no better than the crocodile.
Best way to use wallet in Mario RPG
The best thing you can do with the wallet in Mario RPG is to return it to the Toad NPC it was stolen from. While selling it for 128 coins is nice, the Flower Tab reward you get for returning it is a permanent increase in your Flower Points.
As you get deeper into the game, you will want as many FP as possible, as it’s the amount of Magic you can use in battle. Plus, there are plenty of ways to make money easily in the game, such as Grate Guy’s Casino in Super Mario RPG.
Ultimately, you are free to choose what you want to do with the wallet. However, Mario might judge you if you decide to sell the stolen wallet!
