To understand Suit Tech, it’s essential to recognize that it replaces the suit-specific mods from the previous game. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, costumes are purely for aesthetics, while Suit Tech significantly bolsters your overall abilities. It’s crucial to note that, unlike the Skill Tree, both heroes share Suit Tech upgrades. Also, while the Skill Tree deals primarily with combat prowess, Suit Tech has upgrades ranging from health bonuses to movement.

How to upgrade Suit Tech in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Begin by pausing your game and navigating to the Suit Tech screen within your menu. In this section, you’ll encounter four distinct categories of the feature:

  • Health: This category centers on defense, expanding your health pool, and enhancing healing capabilities.
  • Damage: Here, you can augment your damage output to become a more formidable force in battles.
  • Focus: The focus category increases your focus bar’s capacity, facilitating more effective healing and execution of finishing moves.
  • Traversal: Within this category, you’ll find improvements to swing speed and other traversal abilities.

Once you’ve chosen the category to upgrade, you’ll require resources like Tech Parts, City Tokens, Rare Tech Parts, or Hero Tokens to unlock it. These components can be obtained by completing side missions such as Photo Ops throughout Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Keep in mind that each upgrade comes with a specific cost. The more valuable resources become necessary as you progress to the higher tiers. Ideally, you’ll want to upgrade your Suit Tech early and often. The rewards compound over time, especially the Traversal Tree, which can be quite useful in your playthrough.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now available exclusively on PlayStation 5.
