Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of various secrets and amazing features that make the combat so much deeper and more intense. This guide will explain how Lighting Charges in BG3 work and how to master the combat mechanic to get an advantage over foes.
How do Lightning Charges work in BG3?
First and foremost, before you can start using lightning charges, you need to understand them. Lightning charges are a condition, much like poison. However, it is a positive condition for the affected person, much like a buff in a way. Whenever you have lightning charges, the electricity passes through you, and you gain the following buffs:
- A general +1 to all attack rolls
- An extra 1 lightning damage for each related spell and skill
- Optional: If you reach five charges in total at once, you also gain an additional 1d8 lightning damage per attack
The catch with all of this is you lose a lightning charge each round of battle. As such, it can be difficult to keep this condition up.
