Last week, Japan saw a couple PlayStation 4 releases with Bethesda Softworks’ first-person sci-fi shooter Prey, as well as more from Monokuma and the gang in Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload. Japanese sales tracker Media Create shares a look at software and hardware sales data from the week of May 15 through May 21, 2017.

#1 of the week goes to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 28,781 units sold to take the top spot for the third week straight since the game’s release earlier this month. Monster Hunter XX kept up at #2 with 12,643, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild got bronze with 10,849 units sold on Nintendo Switch.

Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission X also placed #4 to keep the top-4 intact as the previous week. At #5 we have a new title with Bethesda Softworks’ Prey, which debuted in Japan with 7,105 units sold on PS4. NieR: Automata continues to sell consistently to go up a spot at #6 in the week, narrowly beating out Fire Emblem Echoes at #7 with 4,400.

The second new release of the week in Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload placed #8 with 3,880, which is quite the low number for any title from the Danganronpa franchise,  but it’s also pretty understandable considering that it’s still the same two titles they’ve seen for the better part of the last seven years.

Software sales saw an overall decline, but hardware sales stayed about the same without any drastic changes from the week prior. The Nintendo Switch sold 26,114 units in the week, putting it at a total of 874,988 units sold in Japan to date, going by Media Create’s numbers.
