Walkerman has players acting as a hunter of the supernatural, Jorgen, seeking information about werewolves, vampires, and other otherworldly beasts to strike them down. However, these creatures may be the least of the hero’s worries, as deciding who to trust, help, and be helped by might change the story in drastic or dangerous ways.
Jorgen needs to do research in each chapter of the game to know how to take down the featured monster. This requires him to wander town, talk to the various people around, and learn what he can about the creature so that he can fight it in isometric, board-game like combat, knowing which of his available tools will help him win against the monster.
However, learning this information, getting the tools, and getting the financing for the tools requires he interact with the various townspeople. It will be up to the player to decide who among them is trustworthy with their information, or safe to assist or be assisted by. These will alter the path of the game’s storyline, so players will want to take care with who they ally themselves with if they wish to live long as a monster hunter.
Walkerman’s first act is available now on Steam, marking the hero’s arrival in Midgard and the locals’ dislike of him and his chosen profession. A demo prologue is also available for free on Itch.io.
