The upcoming title will feature an entirely reconstructed battle system and an entirely new storyline. The game will serve as a sequel to Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth. More details about this upcoming entry in the Utawarerumono series will be revealed at a later date. Additionally, an upcoming issue of Famitsu will feature a developer interview concerning the upcoming title.

However, there is currently no word of an English localization for Utawarerumono: ZAN 2. International consumers will simply have to wait for a potential announcement.

As mentioned previously, this new entry will be a sequel to Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth. An English version of both Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth and Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception appeared on PC in January 2020. In January 2021, both games were delisted from the PlayStation store. In October 2019, it was announced that Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth would receive an animated adaptation.

Utawarerumono: ZAN 2 will release on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on July 22, 2021 to Japanese audiences.
