Metroidvania Unworthy takes players to a gloomy, yet striking world, one filled with shadowy creatures that will end the player’s life in a few carefully-aimed, powerful strikes.
Unable to die, Unworthy’s protagonist finds themselves roaming a bleak land, one with no shortage of creatures that want to bring the player to their knees. These creatures will lash out with smooth, crushing strikes, forcing the player to carefully watch their movements to find out when to strike. Barring that, there are several traps and items in the environment that can be used to take them down, rewarding clever players for outsmarting their enemies.
Players don’t have to rely on the sword and shield they start with on this adventure, either. Various polearms, hammers, and other weapons, each with a swing arc and timing to take into account in combat, offer multiple ways to tackle the game’s challenges. Players will also unlock various abilities as they seek out the reasons they have been denied death.
