The latest issue of Famitsu reveals that Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!! will release on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on May 28, 2020. [Thanks, Ninten-Switch!]
For those unfamiliar with the title, it’s a multiplayer versus game that features not only Umihara Kawase characters, but characters from other Studio Saizensen and Success games as well. It was developed using Umihara Kawase Fresh!‘s engine and graphical style and, despite being a versus game, there’s a large emphasis on traversal of the stage, as you might expect from a game from this series.
Players use the fishing line to hook in opponents in order to form a ‘Bazooka’ shot, which you can then fire at other opponents for collateral damage or just to damage the opponent caught by you. Up to four players compete at once to gain the most points within the time limit. As the game will support English, Korean, and Traditional Chinese alongside its native Japanese language option, players in the West will be able to play it without issues.
Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!! will debut on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 28, 2020. The game is also set to release in Asia. You can check out its very first gameplay footage from Studio Saizensen in our previous report.
