Nippon Ichi Software has released a patch for their latest strategy-RPG today, allowing players to fight the superboss in the Disgaea series
The latest patch for Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness adds several new elements to the game. The first is the Rakshasa Mode, which you can unlock in the Cheat Room after you complete the main story. In this mode, you can raise the stats of your characters to ridiculous levels. Your items will also grow faster in the Item Sea and gain even more bonuses. Of course, the enemies will also be brutally strong.
In Rakshasa Mode, you can also fight Tyrant Overlord Baal, the most terrifying boss character in the entire Disgaea franchise. You can fight against him multiple times and his power increases after each fight.
Another addition in the version 1.30 patch is Disgaea D2 now allows players to organize units into groups so summoning them from the base panel is more convenient, and you can hide special attacks you don’t need from the attack menu. Also, Etna can learn a fourth attack, “Dead End Chaos”, and the kanji “兆” (1 trillion) can be used to indicate damage — if you can get that high.
Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is available now for the PS3 in Japan and September 27 in Europe. If you live in North America you can pick it up on October 8.
