Trigger Working on Transformers 40th Anniversary Anime

Studio Trigger is set to work on a new Transformers anime in celebration of the franchise’s 40th anniversary, marking a return to the series’ roots with 2D animation. The announcement was made through the official Transformers social media channels, where a teaser video was also released.

Known for its distinct and dynamic animation style, Trigger has taken on the task of bringing the Transformers universe back to a format that longtime fans will find familiar. The teaser for the upcoming anime gives fans a glimpse of legacy designs for key characters, including Hot Rod, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Megatron, evoking the classic look that originally brought these characters to life.

Overwatch 2 has also joined forces with the Transformers franchise in a limited-time crossover event. This event features iconic characters such as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Arcee as skins for existing Overwatch 2 heroes. Players can unlock these skins through in-game purchases, with individual skins priced at 2,500 Overwatch Coins each or 5,900 Coins for the entire bundle. 

Overwatch 2 is available right now for free for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The Transformers collaboration event is only available for a limited time.
