Trials of Mana Shows Off Third-Tier Classes And Prologue Recap Features

Earlier this week, Square Enix released more screenshots and information regarding major plot elements of the Trials of Mana remake, and a look at some of the third-tier classes for each character. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Legendary Creatures

Flammie

The child of the guardian spirit of the mountains and sky sent by the Goddess of Mana. Using the Flammie Drum, the protagonists can call upon its power and take to the skies.

 

Vuscav

A mysterious turtle-like creature which lives on a volcano island. The inhabitants of the island call it the god of the sea. It seems like it dislikes humans.

 

Mana Spirits

The party characters can borrow the powers of eight Mana Spirits, which each represent different elements, and have their own personalities:

  • Gnome (Earth)
  • Undine (Water)
  • Salamander (Fire)
  • Djinn (Wind)
  • Luna (Moon)
  • Dryad (Wood)
  • Wisp (Light)
  • Shade (Darkness)

 

Class Changing

As characters level up, they can also under class changes, which branch off into Light and Dark paths starting with the second tier. The attack power and learnable spells differ by class. For example, Duran can learn healing magic and equip shields if he goes Light path, while he can become the most powerful warrior with attack buffing magic in the Dark path.

New Feature: Prologue Recap

When you meet a new party member, you can play through their prologue to reminiscence up until they meet your chosen protagonist, thus letting players know them better. You can choose whether you want to do this.

 

Map Gimmicks

Each area has its own gimmicks, such as needing to change wind direction, or traversing across heated areas filled with lava.
