Tons More Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver News

Jirachi will be available at DS download stations and certified Nintendo zones (including McDonald’s) from June 19 to July 17 using the Mystery Gift feature in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

It will come with a Liechi Berry attached. Transferring the Jirachi over to HeartGold and SoulSilver will unlock a hidden area.

That special Arceus that Japanese players get during the promotion with the new movie has a role to play in HeartGold and SoulSilver, too. CoroCoro confirms that transferring the Arceus into either of the two games will allow you to trigger an event with Arceus and Cynthia standing between a trio of symbols meant to represent Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.

The screenshot shows Arceus saying that you are being “given the right to choose one life out of three,” which confirms you will be able to capture one of the three following the event.

You can even turn back and talk to them at any point in time to see how they are feeling. I can’t wait to stomp around town with my Tyranitar.

https://vip-develop.siliconera.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/pokedex_gs.jpg?resize=254%2C386 The new Pokédex looks nice, too, and can be navigated entirely with the touch screen, along with the status screen and boxes in the Pokémon Centers.

Most importantly, the existence of Kanto in the game has been confirmed. There is also a new area west of the National Park which you will be able to access.

Still no info on either Celebi or Mewtwo, but given Celebi’s ties to the 2nd generation, he’s a shoo-in. Mewtwo…perhaps Red (Ash) will have him in the cave at the very end? v There hasn’t been much word on Raikou, Entei and Suicune yet either but obviously, they’re all going to be in the game.

Question is, will you still be required to hunt them like you did in the original G/S? That was kind of fun. Still lots of unanswered questions!
