Tomb Raider Sells 8.5 Million Worldwide

2013’S Tomb Raider has sold over 8.5 million copies worldwide, Square Enix announced today. That’s the highest any Tomb Raider game has sold, ever.

Released in March 2013, the game also set franchise sales records for its first day and first month. Square Enix followed it up with a port to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, titled Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.

The next game in the series, Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be released this Fall for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Crystal Dynamics are developing the game in collaboration with Microsoft.
