Don’t remember what Tokyo Jungle is? Okay, here’s a recap: in the year 20XX, humans no longer exist on Earth, and the planet is overrun by animals. Tokyo Jungle drops you in Tokyo as an animal of your choice in a fight for survival against lions, racehorses and dinosaurs.
But wait! That’s just three animals. We’ve mentioned a few more in the past like cheetahs, hippos and chickens, too, but the selection of animals is actually much larger. Famitsu say you can expect to see 55 animal breeds with 75 variants in the game. You’ll be able to choose from these in the game’s Survival mode.
Day and night, as well as climatic changes are part of Tokyo Jungle as well. You’ll need to keep your wits about you if you want to survive. Sneaking up on other animals to get the jump on them is one way to ensure a successful hunt.
Believe it or not, Tokyo Jungle is coming overseas at some point, but we only have confirmation for Europe so far. Sony are publishing the PlayStation 3 game on the PlayStation Network in Europe. You’ll be able to pit a pomeranian against a grizzly bear then.
