Detective Ito’s partner has gone missing, and as she begins to work a case, she finds herself being drawn into a world that means to break her mind. Taking inspiration from The Cat Lady and Neverending Nightmares, Tokyo Dark will  have players facing disturbing visions as they work over the case, leaving them to wonder if what Ito is witnessing is real, or if it’s all happening in her unraveling mind.

Players will make many important decisions despite this addled state of mind, with the S.P.I.N (Sanity, Professionalism, Investigation, Neurosis) system keeping track of how each call factors on its scale. Depending on the player’s position on this scale, certain characters will treat them differently, and actions may or may not be available. This may also affect the player’s route towards the game’s eleven endings, although the game does offer a convenient New Game+ that will let players start at key forks to get to the ending they want.

Players looking to help guide Ito’s rocky state of mind can do so now, as Tokyo Dark is available now on Steam.
