On March 6, 2022, an unauthorized third party attempted to hack Toei Animation’s internal systems. The hacking incident resulted in the company’s online store and internal systems temporarily shutting down as a safety measure. However, the system shutdown has also reportedly affected production schedules. Per an earlier press release, Toei Animation stated that it is actively working with a security company to investigate whether the hack affected user and client data.

The delay will mostly affect anime scheduled to air this weekend, on March 12 and 13, 2022. Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai will air its 31st episode in place of the upcoming 73rd episode. Similarly, Delicious Party: Pretty Cure will rerun its fourth episode instead of the upcoming sixth episode. The updated schedules for both Digimon Ghost Game and One Piece will appear at a later date, via each series’s official website.
