While the October 28, 2020 likely was a welcome sight and surprise for Nintendo Switch owners, the announcement was paired with a sense of finality. Both the tweet revealing it and the video itself confirmed this Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase would be the last one aired in 2020.

The Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase presentations are something that began in 2020. The first one aired on July 20, 2020 and involved a Cadence of Hyrule DLC, Rogue Company, WWE 2K Battlegrounds, Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne III HD Remaster, and Shin Megami Tensei V updates. Additional ones followed in August 2020 and September 2020, prior to this October 2020 segment.

Also, while this is the last Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase, that doesn’t mean there will be no more announcement videos from Nintendo for the rest of 2020. The company has a number of different sorts of Directs. For example, there are regular Indie World Showcases and series-specific Directs, like ones for Pokemon.

As for this October 2020 Nintendo Direct Mini, it included announcements concerning a Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo, Bravely Default II release date, No More Heroes game ports, Control Ultimate Edition and Hitman 3 Cloud Versions, and a new Story of Seasons game.
