<< Last week’s software sales chart

Last week’s best-selling game was JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, the anime fighter developed by CyberConnect 2 and Namco Bandai. The game sold a whopping 425,718 copies in its first week—not surprising, given the popularity of the JoJo brand.

Following behind it at #2 was Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for PlayStation 3. The PS3 version of the game sold 184,018 copies in its first week. Sales of the PC version are unknown, as sales tracker Media-Create don’t release PC sales data publicly.

Finally, Lost Planet 3 was released last week as well, and sold a mere 27,503 copies. Perhaps Media-Create will provide further details in their supplementary report later this week.

With regard to older games on the chart, here’s something interesting to note—Level 5’s Youkai Watch actually increased in sales again last week, over the week prior. Word of mouth seems to be doing its job here, as the Nintendo 3DS role-playing game has been holding up very well indeed, in the weekly software rankings.

Finally, here’s another point of interest—Nintendo 3DS hardware sales increased by about 16,000 units over the week prior as well, despite the fact that there were no new 3DS games released. Why? We imagine people are getting prepared for the arrival of Monster Hunter 4, which releases in two weeks.
