<< Last week’s software sales chart

Last week’s best-selling new release was Uta no ☆ Prince-Sama: Music 2, a rhythm game by Broccoli, which sold nearly 69,000 copies in its first week on store shelves. Following quite some distance behind it at #2 was Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

At #3 was JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, which saw a sharp drop in sales from the week prior. JoJo launched at over 425,000 copies in its first week, but sales in week 2 have dropped to 20,000—a result, perhaps, of negative word of mouth, as the game reportedly has issues that need to be ironed out.

Finally, Tecmo Koei debuted a fighting game of their own last week week—Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, which debuted at the #4 spot on PS3, with 18,608 copies sold. The Xbox 360 version sold an additional 4,862 copies. Overall, the game higher than the last iteration, Dead or Alive 5 Plus for Vita, which sold 13,000 copies at launch. Not too shabby.

On the hardware front, Nintendo 3DS sales rose once more, despite a lack of new 3DS game releases, and we’re quite certain now what the reason for that is.
