This Week In Imports: Animal Crossing Explores New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out this week, at just the right time for the world to relax a bit from all the bad news in 2020. It’s the first console game in the series to release since Animal Crossing: Wild World on the Wii, but it’s a very different game from its predecessors. Instead, it takes on traits of sandbox games, with an entire island to customize to your own liking. Especially since you’ll be able to change the island’s appearance when you get far enough, and it sprinkles in lots of quality of life updates to smooth out the experience. It’s a new paradise to build and call your own, featuring both classic and new villagers to get to know.

It isn’t the only game appearing. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 looks towards new horizons as well, as it brings many new playable characters and new story arcs to cover into the Warriors sub-series, while letting our favorite heroes deal damage to many more thousands of enemies. Finally, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III releases for Nintendo Switch, bringing the series onto the Switch for the first time.
