It’s time for another Mega Man Legends 3 update in screenshot form. Capcom have been made a fair bit of progress on the various areas in the game since they last teased what Legends 3 looks like. Let’s take a look at some screenshots toward the end of last year.
Back in October 2010, tests were run to see how large the development team could make Teolmo City, which is where Legends 3 takes place. In order to quickly build a makeshift city to test hardware limitations, they pasted the same area over and over, and came up with this:
In November 2010, the devteam messed around with day/night transitions, with some very basic and unpolished textures applied to rough models of the city. Here are comparison screens of the two:
In early December, the design of the city started to take shape (to view more rough screens of Teolmo’s construction, see this older post):
By mid-December, the layout of Teolmo City began to solidify, and the development team started to experiment with scale. This was an image of the size of a character relative to his surroundings:
Moving the character around, however, the development team felt that the city was a little too large in proportion to the character, so they had to scale it down in physical size. Here’s the current scale, still with very basic models and textures:
Around December, Capcom also began making progress on the dungeons in the game. Here’s one with a Reaverbot:
