miHoYo shared the final sort of character-focused Albedo Genshin Impact trailer on December 23, 2020. A new Collected Miscellany is here. These are the extended clips that focus on a character’s moveset. So, theoretically, someone could watch this, know what kind of unit he is, and then start brainstorming an Albedo build or two.
Perhaps as a result of the Zhongli incident, Albedo’s trailer is very specific about saying he works best as a support unit. He can fight, but the video begins by showing him helping both Klee and Sucrose be more effective in a Cryo Regisvine fight instead. His Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma Elemental Skill creates a Solar Isotoma bloom on the field, which causes AOE Geo damage, can help generate shields, and offer an elevator-like lift to characters who stand on it. The Elemental Burst Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide causes AOE Geo damage to enemies in front of him with a series of crystals and works in conjunction with an existing Solar Isotoma to cause additional AOE damage.
As the Solar Isotoma deals damage based on defense, it might be a good idea to go with an Albedo build that prioritizes that stat. For example, it’s fairly easy to find Lucky Dog artifacts, which increase DEF if you have two equipped. But once you start working with him, something that offers a Geo or Elemental DMG bonus, like Archaic Petra, could be handy.
Here’s the full Albedo Collected Miscellany video, narrated by Dainsleif as usual.
For people who really want to see what an Albedo build is like in Genshin Impact, there’s a trial event going on. All four of the characters on the banner are available. For Albedo’s section, you have to help him and Xiangling defeat a group of slimes and Abyss Mage. If you complete the challenge, you get 20 Primogems.
Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PC, Android devices, and Apple iOS devices now and will eventually be on the Nintendo Switch. The Albedo banner, which also includes Bennett, Fischl, and Sucrose, is available until January 12, 2021.
